Nature and surroundings
Our nature is safe and right next door
Nestled on a pine-covered slope by the sea, Ylöstalo’s cottages face the enchanting sunset. A shipping lane runs in front of the cottages, with small ships occasionally passing by on their way to the Teijo Shipyard for maintenance. There are also some recreational boats on the lane. A few kilometers to the south, you can see the port of Förby, where a red ship arrives regularly.
Each cottage is surrounded by trees and right nearby is a refreshing forest. The cottage is located directly between the sea and a pine forest. In that forest, you’ll find blueberries, lingonberries, and later in autumn, even mushrooms.

Sea birds have their homes next to your holiday home
By the sea, birdwatchers can spot swans, cormorants, sea eagles, and seagulls. In spring and early summer, you cannot avoid hearing the intoxicating spring concert of seabirds. Small birds also nest in nearby trees and birdhouses. Please do not let your pet roam freely, as the young are easily frightened and may become separated from their litter and mother, leaving them vulnerable to predators. Here the wildlife, birds, forest and sea are part of everyday surroundings.
If you’re feeling active, the area offers numerous trails and roads, perfect for a safe and pleasant walk or run. You can spot deer, moose, otter, foxes, squirrels, and more in the area. Our quests experience the Finnish archipelago nature without leaving the cottage area.
Have you ever been rowing at sunrise or sunset?
Plus, fishing is easy—you can cast a line right off the pier if you prefer a simple catch, no big fishing trip required! Or feel free to take a rowing boat and look around the sea nearby. Early in the morning or late in the evening, when the sea is calm, it is wonderful to experience the freedom of movement that rowing provides.
Come and experience the serene beauty of the archipelago right outside your cottage door!
