Boat Rental Terms
Rental boats are handed over to the customer at the agreed time at the Ylöstalo slipway, where the customer also returns the boat at the end of the rental period. The customer must check the condition of the boat, particularly the propeller, before picking up it. Boats are handed over to the customer with a full tank of fuel, and the customer must return them with a full tank.
The rental period for rental boats is a 24-hour daily rental. During peak season, the boats are transferred to the next cottage renters on the changeover day; therefore, the boat rental period is never longer than the cottage rental period.
The boat is equipped with a laminated nautical chart that clearly shows reefs and shoals, as well as the rental terms and conditions. The customer must carefully review the nautical chart. The chart is to be left in the boat, and life jackets must be returned to the boathouse.
When approaching shore, be mindful of changes in wind direction and fluctuations in water level. The motor must always be raised when approaching shore. The customer must always ensure that the boat does not strike the dock, rocks, another boat, or underwater rocks.
The boat must be left in clean condition for the next customers. Do not store fish in the boat’s storage boxes.
The boat rental fee does not include fuel. The fuel tank holds 25 liters and requires 98E fuel. If the tank is not full, a refueling fee of 25 € plus the cost of fuel will be charged. You can easily refuel your boat at Förby Marina 24/7 using a credit card or express payment.
All of our rental boats are insured, but the deductible fee for damage caused by running aground, hitting rocks, or other negligent handling of the boat is €1,500 (note: the boat charts still list the old deductible fee of €1,000). If the boat runs aground on rocks during the rental period, the rental fee for the remainder of the period will not be refunded.
The customer must immediately report any damage or missing equipment to prevent further damage.
By paying the invoice, the customer accepts these rental terms and conditions. The person making the reservation is responsible for pass this information on to other boat users in the group. The customer is responsible for the boat until it is returned; ultimately, responsibility lies with the person who made the reservation. (Edited 5.10.2026)
