It is easy to warm our wood-heated traditional Finnish saunas.
Sauna is a place where you can calm down alone or together with your family or friends. After an exiting fishing day or a busy holiday, it is nice just to relax in sauna.

Pull old cool ashes down into the ash pan with an ash rake. Empty the ash pan.

Open all the vents and check the air circulation. Maybe you must open a window.

If possible, leave the ash pan slightly open so long the fire is roaring. The stoves are different.

Please check there is no burning material, clothes etc. near the stove.

You need dry logs for heating, like pieces of birch, pine, or spruce wood. Take some always indoor.

Place the wood in the fire chamber so that there is space for air circulation.

Wood ships, scrap newspaper, fire starting sticks help you to set on the fire.

Now you can light the fire with matches. It is needless to use charcoal lighter fluids.

Be always careful with fire, hot stove, water, and ash. Remember that warm ash can start burning.

70° C is comfortable warm to start to bath in sauna. If you feel 60° or 90° is better, just go on!

Please put a linen towel as a seat cover on the sauna bench and fill the pail with water.

Water can be splashed on the stones when the sauna is warm. It increases the humidity.

There’s no need to turn off the sauna stove – just let the fire burn out naturally.
At the end, rinse the benches with cold water.

Do not hesitate to ask, if you have questions.
Enjoy your time in sauna!
