What kind of charcoal should be used in the grill?
Our grills are charcoal grills. You should bring your own charcoal, but if there is any available at the cottage, feel free to use it.
Can we grill during a forest fire warning?
Unfortunately, grills cannot be used during a forest fire warning. It is strictly prohibited due to the high risk of fire.
Is there toilet paper, paper towels, and cleaning supplies at the cottage?
There is enough toilet paper and dishwasher detergent to get started. It's a good idea to bring your own paper towels and personal hygiene items. Please remember that the nearest supermarket is 20 km away, but there is a small shop in the center of Särkisalo, Tiiranta.
Is it always this sunny in Särkisalo?
Yes, the archipelago is often sunnier than other areas in Finland. Thunderstorms only reach Särkisalo from the sea, so rain and thunderstorms visible on the mainland don’t usually make it to the island from the north. Many rain showers miss the island altogether.
